Computers
Whether you need a new hard drive, system board replacement or a memory upgrade, you can rest assured the job will be done correctly and on budget. With over 10,000 repairs under my belt you're going to be up and running with your computer restored to full functionality. Micro-Technix does not repair Apple products, tablets, or smart phones.
Printers
Laser printer repairs for HP, Lexmark, and IBM are a skill most technicians do not posses. I, however, have been repairing printers since 2000. The right part and solution will be implemented to sure easy and error free printing. Micro-Technix does not repair printers that require ink cartridges.
Networks
Network troubleshooting is a demanding skill. Don't leave it to the inexperienced. I have the training and skills to narrow down the problem and find a solution. I have industry certifications from the Computer Training and Industry Association (COMPTia) and Cisco Systems and have been repairing networks since the 1990's. Microsoft Windows Alternatives - Are you tired of Windows?
If you do simple tasks like email, web surfing, and writing notes, and don't run a business or need complicated software there is an alternative to Windows. Linux Mint is a free, open-source operating system with many advantages. It can run on older equipment with less memory and you can skip the expense of anti-malware software. Linux Mint is not targeted by hackers and, as such, is a superior operating system. If you would like to keep your older computer that will not run the latest Microsoft operating system this may be the solution you are looking for. I can even show you a demo of the Linux Mint desktop to give a you an impresssion for the look and feel of Linux Mint. Call me for a visit and I can show you to difference. Typical repair costs for comparison
System restore - Back up 20 GB of data and restore operating system, in shop, $110. Large e-mail back ups or complicated program data restores will be extra (at hourly rate).
Virus removal, onsite, $75- $150 depending on severity of infection. Most viruses are removed in one hour $75.
My typical repair costs $75 $150. If the repair will be over $200, then I consult with you on whether the repair is worth the effort. If the computer is older, I may recommend replacement. I leave the final decision to you. If you like what you have and I can find the parts, then we can fix your older system.
Virus removal
Virus removal can be tricky and thoroughness is important to insure every last bit of the virus is removed. With the latest tools at our disposal your viruses will be vanquished. If your system is too far corrupted to do a complete removal, then we can back up your data and reinstall a fresh copy of your operating system. Our methodology is to protect your data first and we will use the recovery method that is the most beneficial to that end. We will only do a reinstall of your operating system after surveying the problem first. If we can remove the virus with out a reinstall, then we feel that is the best and least inexpensive method.
